What do you do during a 45 min session?
In each workout I use a combination of basic stretching and fundamental foam rolling techniques along the entire body to help relieve any knots and allow the body to receive a proper stretch.
Why should I use a foam roller? Can I just stretch?
The foam roller will help work through any bundle of tissue you may have built up, similar to how a masseuse would. Whereas basic stretching simply helps your muscles elongate and improve elasticity. By mixing them both, you receive a full recover and your body will be able to work more efficiently next time you step into the gym.
How often should I be foam rolling?
Everyone's body is different, but a good rule of thumb is either 15 mins a day or at least 40 mins in one session a week. I encourage my clients to attend one session a week so I can assist them in targeting the specific areas they may require, or improve on particular movements for sports/activities such as Tennis or Golf.
Would I be lost if I just jumped into a session one week?
No! We have built our program to benefit those in the beginning stages of Recovery & Mobility. Each session we work through the body with foundational movements and provide advancements for those students who would like to go deeper. The class itself if very relaxed and flexible to match the pace of the students.
