What is Bluewater Strength?
Bluewater Strength is a coach-led strength and conditioning program that encompasses many different types of training regimens to include weight training, high intensity interval training, functional training, and variations of pushing and pulling exercises with bodyweight.
More than a workout routine, Bluewater Strength is a lifestyle that encourages a gathering place for health conscious people of varied fitness levels and ages who cheer on each other and build each other up while performing the same kind of workout. This community approach strives to bring together young adults performing highly skilled lifts, grandfathers climbing ropes, grandmothers lifting weights, and mothers performing pull-ups all within the same walls of a supportive and encouraging class environment. We promise a camaraderie that everyone will truly enjoy!
Why is Bluewater Strength a good workout?
Members of Bluewater Strength can expect a total body workout that will help them become fitter and stronger than most people their age. It is an all-around, whole body and mind improvement package. Often under timed conditions, these workouts will drive high intensity levels and effective training responses for everyone involved. You will learn simple skills that can be manipulated to make the movements more difficult over time, providing fun and challenging goals to continuously keep workouts interesting and prevent boredom. As a result, muscle growth, strength gain, and improved health will be inevitable.
Whether training for sport or fitness, Bluewater Strength will not only transform your body and physical prowess, but your life too. You will enjoy newfound strength while picking up your toddler, moving furniture, or simply while impressing your friends! Performing resistance training and interval training on a regular basis has proven to delay the aging process as well. Additionally, learning new functional skills, adapting to new movements, and experiencing these everyday strength gains will give you confidence not only inside the gym walls, but also at work, and in your personal life.
What is the ideal age to do Bluewater Strength?
All ages are invited! Beginners to those with a lifting background and everyone in between will benefit from Bluewater Strength. Separate kids’ classes will also be available where proper movement, safety, and fun are emphasized.
What is a Bluewater Strength workout or “Effort”?
A different workout, or the “Effort” prescribed will be assigned daily to a small group class setting so you don’t have to think about your own exercise program. Each class is led by a certified trainer to ensure skills are performed safely and properly to prevent injuries. The workout or “Effort” will touch on one or several various fitness programs mentioned above.
How many times a week would you incorporate it into your routine?
The number of times someone should incorporate Bluewater Strength workouts depends solely on each individual’s goals and lifestyle. To see greater results and long-term success, 3-5 days a week is recommended with recovery days built in to ensure a high level of intensity is maintained. Because workouts are designed to build into a complex progression of strength, cardio and flexibility training, a consistent dedication to Bluewater Strength can help you reach your goals at a faster pace.
How many classes a week will you offer?
Classes will be offered at multiple class times, 5 days a week, with one class on Saturday morning. Tentative class times are Monday-Friday at 530am, 900am, and 530pm. Additional class times will be offered based on demand. Holiday class times will vary. An open-gym time for Bluewater Fitness members will also be available for extra instruction or individual skill work.
What pieces of equipment will you have?
A 44-foot pullup rig with J-hooks to allow for squat racks is the largest equipment item that will be housed within the walls of Bluewater Strength. Multiple barbells and bumper weights, kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, jump ropes, plyo boxes, Concept 2 Rowers, climbing ropes, and gymnastics rings will also surround the space for use during workouts. Other strength equipment items may be added for use in future classes.
What if I don’t know anything about lifting?
A separate 3-session package, “Basics”, is available for novice exercisers where they will learn the ins/out of Bluewater Strength, and the basic movements needed to safely and effectively perform Bluewater Strength workouts under the watchful eye of an experienced trainer. “Basics” classes are conducted in a slower and more detail-oriented pace. After completion of the “Basics” course, members will seamlessly transition to the regular classes.
